In the '70s, draperies and blinds were the standard window treatments in most homes. That’s when Sunburst Shutters gave consumers a more enduring and energy-efficient window treatment: plantation shutters. 

At the beginning, the company offered wood shutters solely. But it became evident fast that Sunburst should make the ultimate shutter – one that provides superior energy efficiency, and looks as charming 20 years from now as the day you purchased it. After much research, sampling, and testing, Sunburst announced the creation of Polywood Shutters. 

Once Sunburst offered the best shutters on the market, they grew considerably, opening locations across America. In 2008, Sunburst Shutters broadened its offerings into blinds, shades, draperies, and window film – and changed its name to Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions.
